My Bear Griz by Suzanne McGinness
The publisher says… Billy has a bear called Griz. A Grizzly Bear. And the two friends have all kinds of wonderful adventures together. They go exploring, play hide and seek, eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches, share secrets and tell jokes. Griz is the best friend a boy could possibly have – whether he’s a Grizzly Bear or a teddy bear…
Eva says… O.K., well, you know, I KIND OF had a feeling that that bear Griz would turn out to be a teddy bear, because you know why? That bear is HUGE. WAY bigger than a REAL bear, even though he looks real. And the other thing is, if Griz was a real bear, he wouldn’t be able to talk and do all that other stuff like make art, and plus, if he was real, Griz would probably just EAT the boy and that’d be the end of the book.
So I figured it was all just that boy’s imagination. And it was.
The best part is that even though he’s HUGE, Griz looks like a REAL bear and that’s what I like! So this is a really GOOD one!!
